‘Hardening off’ is the practice of acclimatising plants which have been grown indoors to outdoor conditions before transplanting them into the ground. Plants in module trays and pots can be moved outside during the daytime and brought back in at night for a few days. This allows them to adjust to the cooler outdoor temperatures and wind stress.
